Turkish yacht builder Mazu Yachts has revealed the interior of the in-build Mazu 82.
Interior styling has been undertaken by Turkish designer Tanju Özelgin, who has created an “understated and elegant” theme, according to the yard.
Özelgin’s aim has been to buck the trend of many yacht interior designs, which, he says, constantly seek to remind owners and guests they are at sea. Instead, his interior design is intended to create the illusion of feeling “at home or in a nice hotel”.

“This was one of our key aspects during the design phase of the yacht: to create a space which won’t let you feel as on a yacht but more as if you were in your own house with all the familiarity and comfort which comes with it.”
The resulting three stateroom interior is therefore “relaxing, elegant, a soothing combination of warm light and inviting textures.”The purpose of the interior design is not to remind guests they are at sea, but to make them feel as if they are at home. The presentation of the Mazu 82’s interior follows the news that the yard had sold the first hull in the series to a Turkish client.
Due to launch by the end of the summer, the 24.5 metre yacht is the largest to come from the yard. Designed by Mazu’s founder Halit Yukay, it will combine a clean profile line with expansive decks and large hull windows.
Accommodation will be for six guests across three staterooms, comprising a full-beam master amidships, an en suite VIP cabin forward, and a double stateroom off the passageway. The master suite bathroom will feature a large shower, with a walk-in wardrobe opposite.
The yacht is expected to be delivered at the end of summer 2019
The Mazu 82 will be built from carbon composite in a light weight sandwich construction. This design will provide the rigidity and strength needed to create wide deck spaces and a high interior volume allowing for large windows without sacrificing performance.
Power will come from three Volvo Penta IPS 1350 1000hp engines with a cruising speed of 35 knots and a maximum speed of 40 knots. Further details include a beam of 5.9 metres and a draft of 1.6 metres.
